	buyer beware
	I bought this monitor 1 year ago and it gave me higher than normal readings, plus different readings in each arm (they were off by 12 points). i had a 24 hour bp monitor put on me by my cardiologist and there was a 20 point difference in the readings with the omron being much higher. Once the dr told me the 24 hr monitor was more accurate (my pressure was low), I didn't use it anymore. Six months later, I was in the dentist's office, and he took my pressure and it was very elevated. I used the omron to monitor it at home for a week, and then called my cardio. At home it was 162/104 and at the dr's office 130/96. We came to the conclusion the machine was broken (after only 1 year and $100). I went to the pharmacy and bought another omron (fool that i am), and it was $100 but returnable. It gave even higher readings than the first so I went to the ER I was so scared. It showed 178/120, and the in the ER while I was considerably stressed out, my readings were 145/95. I have no clue why the machine won't stabliize and give accurate readings, but just know that you should bring it with you to your dr's office to make sure you are in sync or you may wind up being on bp medication when you don't need to. It is important for the dr to take the pressure first, then do yours on the machine (have it plugged in and ready to go while you are on the table so you don't have to get up and down - this could throw the bp off).
