INDICATIONS:
VSL#3 Capsules is a high potency probiotic with the highest available concentration of beneficial live bacteria. A medical food for the dietary management of Ulcerative Colitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or an ileal pouch. It contains 8 different strains of beneficial bacteria that were specially selected to produce an optimal composition of beneficial bacteria. 2 capsules contain 225 billion live lactic acid bacteria, which collectively act as a Living Shield in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. VSL#3 is supplied in a bottle containing 60 capsules. Vegetable capsules.
Who Uses VSL#3 ? Ulcerative Colitis Patients : Several published studies have showed that daily ingestion of VSL#3 can aid in the dietary management of ulcerative colitis (UC). Patients with irritable bowel syndrome : Patients involved in two double blind placebo-controlled trials reported satisfactory relief of gas and bloating associated with IBS. Patients with an ileal Pouch : VSL#3 has been recognized by the American College of Gastroenterology Practice Parameter as a tool for the dietary management of pouchitis. INGREDIENTS:
Lactic acid bacteria, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, silicon dioxide, Microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, silicon dioxide.
DIRECTIONS:
Take 1 to 2 capsules (swallow or mix into a non-carbonated drink) or as suggested by your physician. Bloating can occur during the first few days following the start of VSL#3 consumption. This is usually a transitory phenomenon due to the changing intestinal microflora. If you experience bloating, you may need to reduce your daily intake to allow this adjustment.
