INDICATIONS:
Suplena Specialized Nutrition Liquid is a complete, Balanced Nutrition for people with chronic or acute kidney failure who are not receiving dialysis. Calorically dense— 2 Cal/mL. Low in protein. 8 fl oz provides at least 25% of recommended levels of vitamins and minerals for predialysis patients. Low in vitamins A and D, high in folic acid and vitamin B6 to accommodate the altered metabolism of people with kidney failure who are not on dialysis. High in calcium, low in phosphorus; 1. 9:1 Ca/P ratio to help optimize calcium and phosphorus balance. Low-residue. Lactose- and gluten-free. Kosher.
The high-quality protein of Suplena meets or surpasses the standard amino acid profile for protein of high biologic value. Suplena has a mild, nonsweet vanilla flavor that is well tolerated by people with renal disease. Fat levels in Suplena, although somewhat higher than suggested for healthy persons, 1 are within the range suggested for people with renal disease.
