INDICATIONS:
Sorbitol Solution is a hyperosmotic laxative used to treat constipation. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
DIRECTIONS:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Use a measuring device marked for medicine dosing. Ask your pharmacist for help if you are unsure of how to measure this dose. IF YOU ARE USING THIS MEDICINE AS A RECTAL ENEMA, follow the directions given with the enema. Ask your doctor or pharmacist any questions you may have about giving an enema. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container, away from heat, moisture, and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE and you are taking it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take 2 doses at once.
WARNINGS:
DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or use this medicine for longer than 1 week without checking with your doctor. DO NOT TAKE additional laxatives or stool softeners while taking this medicine unless directed by your doctor. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE if you experience abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or rectal bleeding except under the direction of your doctor. IF YOU NOTICE A SUDDEN CHANGE IN BOWEL HABITS which lasts for 2 weeks or more, consult your doctor.
