INDICATIONS:
Colace Stool Softener Syrup For gentle, reliable relief from occasional irregularity. Stimulant FREE. Generally produces bowel movement in 12 to 72 hours. Docusate sodium is an anionic surfactant (surface-active agent). It lowers the surface tension at the oil-water interface of the feces, allowing water and lipids to penetrate the stool. This helps hydrate and soften fecal material and facilitates natural defecation.
INGREDIENTS:
Docusate sodium.
DIRECTIONS:
Must be given in a 6 oz to 8 oz glass of milk or fruit juice to prevent throat irritation. Adults and children 12 years of age and older: 1 to 6 tablespoonfuls, or as directed by a doctor. Children 2 to under 12 years of age: 1 to 2 tablespoonfuls or as directed by a doctor. This dose may be taken as a single daily dose or in divided doses. Children under 2 years of age: Consult a doctor.
